The month of June is typically recognized as Pride Month, celebrating those with LGBTQ experiences. The way the greater culture celebrates Pride Month is not the way Catholics do, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take time to honor our brothers and sisters living with LGBTQ experiences. The Catholic Feminist is committed to living out the teachings of the Catholic Church in their full beauty, which means both supporting & preaching the truth of a Catholic sexual ethic WHILE using charity during disagreements with our culture at large (ie., not sharing Sick Burns as memes during Pride Month just to antagonize people but instead sitting with our faithful LGBTQ brothers and sisters and supporting them in their faith journey). I’m honored to bring you a guest post today from Julie McKay, who identifies as a Catholic with an LGBTQ experience. This month, please join me in entrusting all of our queer Catholic brother and sisters to Jesus’ sacred heart, and pray for all to come to know the great love of Christ.
If you’re looking for an orthodox Catholic organization that ministers to and walks with LGBTQ Catholics, while celebrating the fullness of the Church’s good, true, and beautiful teachings, please consider donating to Eden Invitation, which Julie is actively involved in. xo - C
