It’s the last booklist for our Year of Books, and can I just say I love how much y’all love a booklist? I truly just started doing booklists this year because in January the idea I had planned (10 Books Every Catholic Feminist Should Read) was stressing me out—what about fiction? What about kid lit?! Where oh where should my classics rant go? (😉)—and I can’t believe how many of you actually utilize these booklists. Books make you think, light your heart on fire, and remind you of what’s good, true, and beautiful. So I’m thrilled that the Letters crew is a crew of readers.
For this final list, I wanted to be like Every Other Writer Around and give you my top ten books of 2023. This is an eclectic list of books I really, really loved this year. I read 59 total books this year, cover to cover, and these were my tippy-top favorites. I did limit myself to first time reads for this list—I would say a good half of my reading is re-reading, but these are books I read for the very first time this year that I absolutely loved. I hope they find a way onto your 2024 TBR.
